Saint Paul the Apostle (c. 5 AD, Tarsus, Turkey – June 29, 67, Rome) is the outstanding figure of early Christianity; the “thirteenth apostle”, patron saint of missionaries, the imprisoned and the persecuted.

His feast day is celebrated on January 25.

His symbols are the sword and scroll.
