Description

Saint Barbara (3^rd century – around 306, Nicomedia) was a Christian martyr and one of the fourteen Holy Helpers. She is the patron saint of miners, smelters, gunners, builders and cannon- and bell founders. Many Barbara relics are venerated in many parts of the world, and there are several celebrations of the transfer of relics.

Her feast day is celebrated on December 4.

Her symbols are the ciborium and the host.
