Description

The Infant Jesus of Prague is a statue of the Child Jesus in the Carmelite Church of Our Lady of Victories in Prague. Jesus is depicted as a high priest with a cross on his chest, giving blessings. He is wearing a crown on his head, in a royal robe, with a golden apple representing the globe in his left hand, and a ring on his right. It is one of the most characteristic symbols of the Austro-Czech Baroque revival with many copies. Throughout the year, the statue evokes the mystery of Christmas and the joy of childhood. It can be dressed up and has an incomparably rich wardrobe.
